Well I think ill give a short story before i fill this thread with questions ;D Well when i was 10 i tried making a Super-Cop game or something it never turned out... anyway now i want to make a game called Battle of the Burning Plains (Varden vs. Galbatorix in the book Eldest) And I have millions of questions that need answering. (Well not millions... ) K here is my mind destroying list and if you can even answer 1 or 2 it will help me tons!! ;D How do you get rid of the starting points like the town hall cause in my map i don't want that!! (in the super-cop game when i was 10 i just put them in bottom left and put the black stuff around them ) How can i make a timer and then people spawn.. (In the book about half way threw dwarf reinforcements come and at the end Galbatorix elites come) And last question (well this wasn't quite 1 million was it?) I want a custom loading screen to make my map look professional and i read the loading screen tutorial although when i use the WC3 Image extractor on my image it says runtime error (9) or something and it closes. Help? And many many many many many many many many many many many many many Thanks to whoever helps a poor n00b like me ;D ;D ;D

hmmm.... mmm... have you ever looked into a Trigger Editor? - that's my question If I understood your first question well, then you haven't. You must know that every map in warcraft 3 is either a melee or non-melee. When you save you notice that. A melee map must have specific rules, for instance that every player starts with 1 main hall (Town Hall, Necropolis, Tree of Life, ...) and 5 worker units (Peasant, Peon, Wisp, ...) - Undead is exeption, they start with 3 acolytes and 1 ghoul. Which unit is considered as a Town Hall and which is considered as a Worker is determined in Object Editor - Unit Classification.A melee map is usually just a 'map' so that player can choose the map and then choose his race, race of his opponents, colors, ... A non-melee map is a map where everything is defined in editor - original warcaft campaing is non-melee, you start with various units, and there are quests, cinematics, ... How to solve this? This thing (the starting with a hall and workers you don't place in editor) is set in Trigger Editor - in Map Initialization trigger, where every melee trigger is executed - such as generation of town hall, or random hero on start, or vitory conditions, ... This melee triggers should only be in melee maps. So if you make a non-melee map (Campaign, RPG, Multiplayer Scenatio, ...) you can just delete this trigger and making your own triggers. But remember - a non-melee map ***SHOULD*** have your custom triggers. And here in trigger editor is also made a timer and unit spawn - and MANY other stuff so you shloud learn using it. But before you start making your maps you should learn first in a test maps - experiment just to know how powerful triggers are. Timer thing is a little more complicated, so learn easier things first. You'll find useful information in our Tutorials Section - I recomend you to read Variable Tutorial and Trigger Tutorial before you do anything. I know this is a lot at first but once you'll learn this it'll be easier then.
